I got back to my parents’ house last night and in short, it’s a smorgasburg of produce here. Having the time to slow down and cook for everyone is something I’ve looked forward to at the end of every semester. It’s a lovely feeling to have the time to make meals and eat them in no particular hurry.
In a truly relaxed fashion, I made myself a sandwich and enjoyed it out in the sunshine. Not my usual setup for food photography, to say the least. Even used an automatic mode on the camera.
Since the weather is warmer I certainly find having raw fruits and vegetables more appealing. Besides their appeal, though, I read WomanCode this past weekend and learned an incredible amount about cycle syncing and food. I knew the basics before this but Alisa Vitti is a super source for everything hormonal.
To keep the details minimal, I’ll leave this link and suggest you look into when raw foods are optimal to eat throughout your month.
- 2 slices grain-free bread
- 2 slices tofu
- 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
- 1/4 of an avocado
- 1 radish, sliced
- 1/2 of a small carrot, sliced
- lettuce and/or sprouts
- salt & pepper
I don’t think I need to provide directions for sandwich assembly, but sticking the mustard on one slice and avocado on the other act a bit like glue for the rest.
